Draka expands subsea power solutions for offshore wind farms

subsea_1Draka announced today the expansion of their subsea power solutions for the Offshore Wind Energy market.  Draka has expanded its production capabilities to further enhance the production of medium voltage XLPE power cables up to 36kV.

In addition, the company now offers a complete range of accessories and installation services along with circuit testing or commissioning.  “Draka now offers a complete service package,” stated Martin Dale, Commercial Director of subsea cables.  “We have been a trusted supplier of submarine cabling for more than 30 years.  Our customers trust us to deliver precise, highly engineered products manufactured to exacting quality standards.”
With the rapid expansion of offshore wind farms, some utilities are expecting more turnkey solutions from their vendors.  In Draka’s case, the company has a global team of engineers that can assist in the design and management of large projects.  “We do more than sell our customers products,” added Dale.  “We offer a complete solution from design through installation which helps make project management and field installation for our customers more efficient than trying to coordinate several vendors and installers.”
Draka has a long history of providing the market with cable engineering solutions.
