Nidaplast composites make infusion easier and less expensive with a customizable, ready-to-use product called ROVIpan. The new product was presented to manufacturers from the wind energy sector during the Wind Power Expo in Saragossa that took place 22-24 September 2009.
ROVIpan combines two materials: 1) an environment-friendly polypropylene honeycomb core (Nidaplast 8RI), with a nonwoven polyester surface that is ideal for impregnating with resin and enabling resin flow, and 2) glass-fibre skins with integrated flow medium (Chomarat’s ROVIFLOW).
ROVIpan meets the requirements for low weight, high strength and ecodesign, which are all essential for wind energy applications. It is the latest in a broad range of nidaplast products, and its properties are eminently suitable for wind turbine nacelle design.
